Nancy Lou Joyce Stroud, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, April 1, 2004, at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of fifty-five. She was born November 9, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, to Richard and Iris Beatrice Davis Tibbits. Nancy and Jerry Lynn Stroud were married August 23, 1969, at Moore, Oklahoma. To this union, two daughters, Tracie and Michelle, were born.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Comanche, Oklahoma, and a member of Meridian First Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include: her husband - Jerry Stroud, of Duncan, OK; two daughters - Michell Stroud, of the home in Duncan, OK, and Tracie Metts and her husband Jeromy, of Duncan, OK; her father - Richard Tibbits of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother - Glen Tibbits of Edmond, OK; three sisters - Julie Ellen Tibbits of Duncan, OK, Iris Jackie Ritter of Moore, OK, and Joanna Mae Vinson, of Moore, OK; her mother-in-law - Naomi Stroud of Comanche, OK; two sisters-in-law - Shirley Forsythe of Comanche, OK, and Geneva Landers sof Duncan, OK; three grandchildren - Lacie, Shaylan, and Miah Metts of Duncan, OK; and eighteen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Iris Beatrice Tibbits.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stroud were at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 5, 2004, at the Meridian First Baptist Church, with Rev. Rusty Canoy officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
