Myrl Granny Biffle was born in Big Spring, Texas on May 7, 1909, to Slater A. and Myrtle A. Eason. She passed from this life on November 3, 2002. She married Henderson Porter Biffle at Weaver Chapel, east of Comanche, on May 8, 1926. Hence passed on to his reward on November 28, 1968. Mrs. Biffle was the last survivor of her family, preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Myrl was the mother of eight children. She was preceded in death by four of her children: Rosa Faye (11/14/27), Baby Biffle (4/13/37), Jewel McCorkle (8/8/96), and Viola Chandler (12/25/99). Surviving children: Mae and C.W. Patow of Kerrville, TX, James R. and Venita Biffle of Marlow, OK, Alfred P. and Carolyn Biffle of Vera, OK, and Ray Powers of Duncan, OK. She is also survived by Victor L. Chandler of Big Spring, TX, and Charles O. McCorkle of OKC, OK, seventeen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, and twenty-one great-great-grandchildren.
Myrl retired from the Duncan Laundry where she had worked as a press operator for twenty-three years. She became a charter member of the Church of God in 1958. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and pastored churches in El Reno and Talequah, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at 2:00 PM, at Bethesda Church of God in Duncan, Oklahoma with Reverend Harold Metheny and Reverend Edward Jackson officiating. Burial was in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
Pallbearers were grandson. Honorary pallbearers were great grandsons.
