Murray Wilford Williams passed from this life Saturday, November 16, 2002, in Royal Villa Nursing Home at the age of eighty-five. He was born December 30, 1916, in Iuka, Arkansas, to John and Ruth Williams. Murray moved from Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to San Diego, California in 1942, and worked in the shipyard until he was inducted into the Army on March 13, 1945, at Ft MacArthur California. He served his time in the Philippines until he was discharged on December 17, 1946. He remained in Los Angeles until his death.
Survivors include: one niece - Sherry Riddles and her husband Jack of Mansfield, TX; four grandnieces - Ginger Fitzgerald and her husband Rocky of Waurika, OK, Suzy Burleson of Waurika, OK, Dee Ann Roberts and her husband Gary of Austin, TX, and Jackie Williett and her husband Nate of Mansfield, TX; and one grandnephew - Kenneth Rich of Waurika, OK.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Ruth Williams.
Graveside services for Mr. Williams were at 1:30 PM, Friday, November 22, 2002, in the Waurika Cemetery with Gary Roberts officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
