Morris Ray Bryant

Morris Ray Bryant was born October 5, 1954 in West Virginia to Clyde and Margie Pendleton Bryant.  Morris passed from this life Sunday, February 14, 2010 in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of fifty-five.  He graduated from Chapmanville High School in 1972.  He served his country in the United States Air Force.   He worked in law enforcement for over sixteen years. He also worked as an EMT and as a Firefighter. He was currently employed with the City of Ryan as Chief of Police.  Morris and Shelly Norton English were married December 28, 2007 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Morris was always helping the elderly and those who could not do things for themselves. Whether he mowed your yard, came and got a stray animal, or a snake from your garden, he was many things to many people. He will be missed by all who knew him. 
 
Morris  is survived by his wife Shelly of the home in Ryan, children - Clyde Ray Bryant and wife Sage Bryant of Waurika, Angie Smith and husband Gordon, Candice Walling and husband John, Meagan Bryant and fiance Jessee all of Waurika, and Lori Mayfield and husband Ash of  Ada, Dustin Ragland and wife Daria of Lone Grove, and Curtis English and wife Shelby of Coalgate, grandchildren - Gage and Dillon Pittman, Gracie Walling, and Cason, Kiera, and Holdyn Brackett all of Waurika, Haven and Gracie Mayfield of Ada, and Skylar Ragland and Cache Coffman of Lone Grove, and one grandbaby on the way in Coalgate, mother - Margie Bryant,  siblings-twin sister- Alice Farley and husband Phillip, Frances Seay and husband Kenny, and Jo Carol Bartley and husband Paul, Kelly and wife Caroline all of West Virginia,  Clyde Dana Bryant and wife Teresa of Houston, Neil Bryant and wife Angie of Conroe, Texas, mother and father in law - David and Kay Norton of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father Clyde Bryant, and grandparents Morris and Alice Pendleton.     
 
Funeral service will be at 2:00PM Friday February 19, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Ryan with Rev. Jason Vance, Rev. Steve Harshaw and Rodger Schwenn officiating.  Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 10AM-6PM and Thursday from 10AM-8PM with family receiving visitors from 6-7PM. Memorials may be made to the Flat Creek Fire Department.
