Monte Rae Dunn, ninety-one, of Duncan, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord and her husband Carl, on Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at her home.
Monte Rae was born February 2, 1912, to Robert and Sarah McCurley, at Bochita, Oklahoma. She and Carl R. Dunn were married July 11, 1929, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1972. She was a homemaker, music teacher, and a member of City Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son - Michael L. and his wife Maria Dunn of Duncan, OK; one daughter - Ila Rose and her husband Aaron D. Miller of Comanche, OK; two sisters - Lila Jane McElroy of San Antonio, TX, and Naomi Jean Marburger of Leander, TX; one brother - R.C. McCurley of Pampa, TX; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her best and closest friend - Ilse Dunn; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, a daughter, Nell Jo Biffle, and a son Billy Carl Dunn.
Graveside services for Mrs. Dunn were at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 26, 2003, at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche with Rev. Jim Green officiating. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Pallbearers were the grandchildren - Steve Biffel of Marlow, OK, David Biffle of Woodward, OK, Carla Griffin, Twyla Kasperiet, Cindy Whitt, Jesus Tamez, and Arely Angel Tamez, all of Duncan, OK.
