Moleta Maxine Carmichael was born September 2, 1924, in Erick, Oklahoma, to Ira Bert and Lavonia Mae Wooten Carmichael. She met the Lord November 20, 2007, on a Tuesday night and He welcomed her home. She was married ot Edwin Albert Lowe February 21, 1947, in Henrietta, Texas. They had five children. They were divorced in 1971, and July 15, 1989, she married Vernon Barnes in Ft Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon, brothers C.M. and Warren Carmichael, and sister Betty Buchanan.

Survivors include: her children - Charles Edwin Lowe of Duncan, OK, Roy Edwin Lowe of Waurika, OK, Patricia Ann and her husband Jacques Minney of Waurika, OK, Richard James Lowe and his wife Joanne of Akron, OH, and Sandra Kay and her husband Randy Creagle of Lawton, OK; eight grandchildren - Jennifer Melissa Lowe, Stuart Duncan Lowe, Nathan Scott Lowe, Randy Tony Minney, Scott Wayne Minney, Jamie Lowe, Stephanie Ann Creagle, and Melissa Dawn Creagle; six great-grandchildren - Danielle Minney, Zangar Minney, Alexis Minney, Dylan Creagle, Gage Creagle, and Michael Creagle; and several nieces and nephews - Charlene Carmichael, Cathy Johns, Denise Brown, and Sydney Fleming.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barnes were at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 23, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Rev. Audie Dorrrough officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
