Mildred Marie (Moore) Wike

Mildred Marie Moore Wike, 87, of Spokane Valley, Washington passed away November 4, 2017 at Hospice House of Spokane. Mildred was born on April 19, 1930 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Erwin Moore and Myrtle (Moore) Troop. Mildred's family moved to California in 1942 when Mildred was 12 years old. Mildred married Otis Wike in 1956 and was married for 31 years before his death in 1987. They had three sons, Scott, Kevin, and Ben.
Mildred was a wonderful cook and spent much of her working career as a cook, specifically The Pioneer Home in Fairbanks, Alaska. Her other interests included knitting, sewing, ceramics, and reading. Mildred lived in Alaska for 25 years, Alabama for 7 years, California for 26 years, and, finally, Washington for 17 years with her son, Kevin. She loved to travel but was unable to do so in her later years.
Mildred had a strong Christian faith and felt assured of eternal life after leaving this mortal body through faith in Christ alone as her savior. She donated generously to many charities over the years to promote God's work on earth. She was genuinely interested in the welfare of others and was considered the nicest person you could know by her family and friends.
Mildred is survived by her sons, Scott Wike of Ehrenberg, Arizona, Kevin Wike of Spokane Valley, Washington, and Ben Wike of Fairbanks, Alaska. Mildred was laid to rest beside her husband, Otis, in the Ryan Cemetery in Ryan, Oklahoma.
