Milbria Ellen "Tooter" (Turner) Chalenburg

Milbria Ellen "Tooter" (Turner) Chalenburg was born August 29, 1930, in Ringgold, Texas to Finis Frank and Thelma Florence Carter Turner. She passed from this life Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Hospice of Wichita Falls, at the age of 87. Milbria graduated from Union Valley School. She married Gordon Orville Jerome Chalenburg on December 23, 1950, in Lawton, Oklahoma. They resided where ever the Army sent their family, which included Germany, Florida, Alabama, Kansas, Texas and retiring in Ryan, Oklahoma.
She was a Baptist. She was a member of the Oklahoma Eastern Star for 66 years. She attended and was active holding various posts with the Ryan Chapter, until they consolidated with Duncan Chapter #39, and was a member of the Major Francis Grice Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a bookkeeper for JC Penney, Insurance Place, First National Bank in Terral, Waurika Livestock Commission and above all was a "military wife".
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon, her parents, and a brother Hulen Ray "Rusty" Turner.
She is survived by: son - Richard Jerome Chalenburg and wife Sandy of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughters - Sonja Vernell Gandy and husband Bob of Wichita Falls, Texas and Carol Jo Weatherly and husband Rusty of Terral, Oklahoma; grandchildren - Brandie Lynn Ross and husband Robbie, Caren Jo Rangel and husband Fernando, Brian Weatherly and wife Christy, Steven Weatherly and wife Casey, and Kristen Dennard and husband Colt; and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by: brother - Joe Turner and wife Fern; sister - Vernell Stone Polk; and sister-in-law - Twila Turner; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons - Brian Weatherly, Steven Weatherly, Fernando Rangel, Robbie Ross, Colt Dennard, and nephew - Kevin Stone.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Ryan with Ricky Phillips and Steve Spangler officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon - 8:00 PM at the funeral home in Ryan with family receiving visitors from 6-8PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Milbria to: Military Appreciation Room in c/o Major Francis Grice Chapter, NSDAR at 1714 Ridgemont Dr., Wichita Falls, TX. 76309, or Ryan First Baptist Church.
