Merry Wenona Jobe passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at the age of eighty-one, at the Duncan Regional Hospital. Mrs. Jobe was born to A.W. and Ophir Harris McCartney on April 17, 1922, at Addington, Oklahoma. In June of 1938, Merry and W.D. Jobe were married, east of Comanche, Oklahoma. To this union one son, David, was born.

Mrs. Jobe was preceded in death by her husband W.D. on February 27, 2002.

Survivors include: her son, David, of Comanche, OK; three brothers - Jack McCartney of Loco, OK, Elmo McCartney of Duncan, OK, and Anthony McCartney of Loco, OK; two sisters - Maxine Odekoven of Loco, OK, and Marquarite Phillips of Canton, OK; three grandchildren - April, Robert, and Sommer Jobe; and one great-grandchild - Heather Jobe.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jobe were held at 2:30 PM, Friday, May 2, 2003, at the Loco Baptist Church. Burial was in the Loco Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
