Merl Edward Lambert

Merl Edward Lambert was born January 16, 1910, to Edward and Ethel "Perry" Lambert in Washington, Oklahoma. Merl passed from this life Saturday, August 25, 2001, in the Meridian Nursing Home at the age of 91. Merl was a retired farmer and trucker. He married Lucy Ruth Southward on December 30, 1930, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 15, 1996.

Survivors include: two sons - William Earl Lambert of Kingson, OK, and Derrel Wayne Lambert of Duncan, OK; three daughters - Gloria Jean Bone of Oklahoma City, OK, Jackie Deloris Lambert of Vista, CA, and Merlene Sue Red Elk of Oklahoma City, OK; eight brothers; nine sisters; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Merl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, one son - Carrol, one daughter - Ruth Ann, four brothers, and five sisters.

Funeral services were Wednesday, August 29, 2001, at 10:00 AM, at the Corum Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Humphries officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.

Pallbearers were: Darin Higgins, Jimmy Ledford, Lynn Davenport, Randall Bone, Matthew Pearn, Gene Higgins, David Parker, Cooper Williams, Richard Williams, Lindy Red Elk, and C.E. Red Elk.
