Max Weldon Thomas
Max Weldon Thomas, 69, of Ryan, Oklahoma, passed from this life February 6, 2017. He was born August 25, 1947, to Carl Dowesy and Willie Irene Lands Thomas Rater. He married Katherine Ruth Helloms on March 26, 1969, in Montague County, Texas. He was a truck driver and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the VFW in Duncan, Oklahoma. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandkids.
Weldon was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Willie Irene; and his brothers David, Carl, and Ray.
Survivors include: his wife Ruth of the home; his children Irene Hooper, Carolyn Vaughn, Leann Thomas, and Max Thomas Jr.; his sisters Laura Garrett and Lenora Gillespie; and his grandchildren Jimmy Vaughn, Jessica Vaughn, Lori Alford, Jaylee Vaughn, Ethan Jackson, and Kaylee Willeford.
Funeral services for Weldon will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Cross Brand Cowboy Church in Waurika with Bob Waitman officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Homes. Pallbearers will be Tony Huskey, James Helloms, James Terry, Ray Helloms, and Jamie Atwood. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Ryan with the family receiving visitors from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
