Maudell Evelyn Stewart Walling


Maudell Walling, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed from this life August 8, 2007, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is now in the wonderful hands of her Lord. Maudell Evelyn Stewart Walling was born in Ft Worth, Texas, March 23, 1912, to Henry Clay Jack Stewart and Annie Maud Martin Stewart. She grew up in Terral, OKlahoma, and graduated from Terral High School. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1987, her parents, one sister, Betty Guest, and one brother, L. Jack Stewart, and by her brother-in-law Norman Guest and sister-in-law Helen Stewart.

Maudell was a life member of the First Baptist Church and was also active in the Waurika community. She was a past member of the Business and Professional Women of Waurika and worked for many years at the Davis Flower Shop. She was a true blessing to her family and all who knew her. Nothing but kind words came from her and she inspired all who knew her to have faith, compassion, and love for all things made by the hand of God. She is now surrounded by those who have gone before her and is at peace.

Survivors include: one child - John Walling and his wife Michelle, of Oklahoma City, OK; four grandchildren - Pat and her husband Gary Robinson of Hastings, OK, Shawn O'Connor of Atlanta, GA, John Cread and his wife Candice of Waurika, OK, and Jill Hall of Waurika, OK; five great-grandchildren - Megan, Sean and Amber Hall of Waurika, OK, Alexandra Walling of Norman, OK, and Gracie Walling of Waurika, OK; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Walling will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, with Noel Curington officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be Monday, August 13, 2007, from 1:00 - 7:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel.
