Mary Lee Jacobs

Mary Lee Jacobs passed away Saturday, March 11 2006, at the Meridian Nursing Home, at the age of eighty-eight. For the past year she had made her home in Duncan. Mary was born to Edgar Newton and Mary Etta Bryant on September 14, 1917, at Valliant, Oklahoma. Mary and Tomy T. Jacobs were married in 1934. To this union three children were born. Mary was a homemaker, mother,grandmother, and minister’s wife. Mary and Tomy pastored Assemblies of God Churches for fifty-six years in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Oregon. Tomy passed away in 1989.

Survivors include: one son Sammy Dale Jacobs of Texas; two daughters - Geraldine Maden of Oregon and Betty Ruth Cottrell of Duncan, OK; one brother Sample Bryant; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tomy Jacobs; her sisters Opal Lee Bryant, Ola Ree Bacorn, and Neomaza Bowling; her brother Edgar Leo Bryant; her grandson Kevin McAdoo; and her niece Polly Hamill.

Graveside services for Mrs. Jacobs were at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at the Moran Cemetery in Valliant, Oklahoma with Jimm Jacobs officiating. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Memorial contributions may be made to the Moran Cemetery Fund.
