Mary Jane Gilmore

Mary Jane Gilmore passed from this life Tuesday, April 7, 2003, in the Pecan Manor Nursing Home in Ft. Worth, Texas, at the age of ninety. Janie was born to Benjamin and Eva Mae Wilson between Velma and Santa Fe, Oklahoma, on April 28, 1912.

Janie attended schools in both the Santa Fe and Comanche communities.

Janie and her first husband Arnold Hendrix made their home in Comanche, Oklahoma. She worked as a seamstress. Arnold preceded her in death.

Janie married Albert Gilmore in January of 1954. They moved their home to Ft. Worth, Texas in 1955. She moved back to Comanche, Oklahoma in 1976, returning to Ft. Worth in 1985.

Survivors include: two sons - Robert Hendrix of Godley, TX, and Roger Hendrix of Ft. Worth, TX; one daughter, Wanda Sanderson of Ft. Worth, TX; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arnold Hendrix and Albert Gilmore, and one daughter, Helen Hinkle, in August of 1994.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Gilmore at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 10, 2003, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche, Oklahoma with Kelly Hinson officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
