Martha Dell Stowe

Martha Dell Stowe long time resident of Waurika died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the age of eighty - two. Martha was born on November 4, 1927 to Eli and Sylvia Rush while they were living near Henrietta, Texas. She attended school in Byers, Texas where she excelled on the volleyball court.
She met and married Les Stowe of Waurika and spent the following sixty-three years together. Martha was a stay at home mom to her three sons while they were growing up. She and Les owned and operated Stowe's Motel in Waurika. She worked with Cleve Largent and her friends at the Jefferson County Court House before she and Les bought and operated the Ryan Building Center in Ryan, Oklahoma.
Martha was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Waurika and served on the committee that provides food for all funeral services. She loved being with her Thursday bridge playing partners and her friends both in Waurika and Ryan.

She leaves a wonderful, memory filled legacy with:
her husband - Les Stowe who lives in te Meadowlake Esates Nursing Home in Oklahoma City. Her three sons - Rusty and his wife Rita of Oklahoma City, Dick and his wife Karen of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Roger and his wife Lisa of Osceola, Nebraska, her seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Our loss is certainly heaven's gain!

Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 1:00 PM First Baptist Church in Waurika with Rev. Jeff McLemore and Willis Worley, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Funeral Meal Fund.
