Martha Ann "Henry" Overstreet

Martha Ann "Henry" Overstreet, 90, of Waurika, Oklahoma, passed from this life Friday, July 24, 2015, at Westbrook Care Center in Waurika. She was born June 25, 1925, in Dublin, Texas, to Morris and Annie "Gilbreath" Henry. She was raised by her maternal aunt and uncle Lula and Maurice Dawkins, following the death of her mother.
Martha Ann was married to John Overstreet on August 11, 1943 in Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2004. She was a nurse at the Ryan Nursing Home for more than thirty years, serving as the Director of Nursing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika. Martha Ann's true love was caring for others. She possessed a compassion and caring nature that was unmatched by others. Martha Ann dearly loved her family and spent every available minute attending activities and chasing grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Junior, her husband John, and her son John Stephen.
Survivors include: her grandchildren - Jodie Roberts and husband Tony, of Waurika, Todd Overstreet and his wife Shelly of Kingfisher; her great-grandchildren - Seth and Mason Overstreet, Abby Graham and husband Jake of Waurika and their sons Tyson and Turner, and Zak and Dexter Roberts, Daughter in law Joyce Garrett of Waurika and her step grandchildren - Steven, Matt and Joe Kingcade; and Mattie and Cicily Overstreet; several nieces and nephews; and special niece and nephew - Ocie Bob Overstreet and Brenda of Ryan, and Rhnea Stewart of Mustang.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 27, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Mike Bates and Jeff McLemore officiating. Burial will follow in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Tony Roberts, Ocie Bob Overstreet, Todd Overstreet, Seth Overstreet, Mason Overstreet, and Denver Overstreet. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Overstreet, Mike Overstreet, Jerry Wood, Jimmy Overstreet, and Jerry Shelton. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with the family visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
