Marguerite Marie Meeks Freeman passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at the age of 83. Mrs. Freeman was born November 29, 1917, in Hastings Oklahoma, to James Meeks and Susanna Velau.

Mrs. Freeman was a retired educator and librarian in the Waurika schools. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She and Rex Freeman married on August 25, 1941, in Hastings, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: her husband, Rex Freeman of the home in Hastings; one son - Rex R. Buddy Freeman, Jr. of Hastings; two daughters - Carolyn Arnold of Key Biscayne, FL, and Jeanne Criss of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers - James H. Meeks, Jr. of Tulsa, OK, and Dwight Meeks of Abilene, TX; two sisters - Zola M. Beaves of Oklahoma City, OK, and Mildred E. Fleming of Reedville, VA; grandchildren - Lyndon D. Arnold, Douglas R. ARnold, Susanna Arnold Raffey, John Robert Douglas, Megan M. Criss; and ten great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Freeman were at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 27, 2001, at the Waurika United Methodist Church with Reed Montgomery officiating. Burial was in Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
