Maggie Ellen Abell was born February 4, 1907, to John and Ida Raburn in Arkansas. Ellen passed from this life October 16, 2001, at the age of 94, in the Jefferson County Hospital in Waurika, Oklahoma.

Maggie Ellen Raburn married Lester M. Abell on August 5, 1931, in Terral, Oklahoma. Ellen and Lester made their home in Ryan, Oklahoma. Ellen retired from the Ryan Publi School system where she worked as a cook for over 20 years.

Lester preceded her in death in 1981.

Ellen Abell is survived by: one daughter - Wanda George of Ryan, Ok; one sister - Ruby Skinner of Henrietta, TX; three grandchildren - Todd and Bob Turner and Barry George; four great grandchildren - Angela and Marsi Turner, and Bonnie and Erin George.

Ellen was also preceded in death by: three brothers - Henry, Edwin and Fred Raburn; five sisters - Gertrude Raburn, Iona Long, Rosie Newsome, Pearl Ramsey, and Opal Yost; and one sister-in-law - Cleo Abell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2001, at 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ in Ryan with Bob Harrison officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.
