Ilena Mae Gardner passed from this life Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at the age of seventy-two. She was born April 15, 1931, to Harrison Carter and Trella Hillman, in Waurika, Oklahoma. Mrs. Gardner was a homemaker. She and Harold were united in marriage on July 29, 1949, in Waurika. She was a member of Hastings Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Harold, of the home in Waurika, OK; one son, Wayne and his wife Yulanda Gardner of Marysville, CA; one daughter, Kathleen and her husband George McCoy of Chesapeake, VA; one grandson, Derrick Gardner of Marysville, CA; and one granddaughter, Danya Lefko of Virginia Beach, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Trella Carter, five brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gardner were at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 21, 2003, at the Hastings Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Coleman officiating. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
