Mable Allen Lorentz was born January 8, 1912, to Ira and Alice Allen in Mt. Vernon, Texas. Mable passed from this life on Tuesday, June 26, 2001, in the Elmbrook Nursing Home in Ardmore, OK, at the age of 89.

Mable Allen married William Otis Lorentz in Jefferson County, OK, on May 29, 1932. Four sons and one daughter were born from this union. She was a lifetime resident of the Ryan and Terral area. Mable worked for many years with Ryan Nursing Home while being a homemaker. She was valedictorian of her 1932 Irving class. She also loved gardening and flowers.

Mable is survived by: three sons - Junior and his wife Cynthia of Lone Grove, OK, Bobby and his wife Beth of Ft Worth, TX, and Gene and his wife Mary Jo of Richardson, TX; one daughter - Alice Lorentz of Norman, OK; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters - Edith Richardson of Montague, TX, and Lena Hughes of Ryan, OK; one aunt - Hadgie Renz; and two uncles - Kelly and Frank Allen.

Mable was preceded in death by her husband, William, in October of 1974, and one son - Doyle William, in 1980.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 29, 2001, at 10:00 AM at the Ryan Church of Christ with Bob Harrison officiating. Burial was in the Terral Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.
