Mabel Valentine Sanderson Frost
Funeral services at First Baptist Church, Waurika, Monday, August 11 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Jeff McLemore officiating with burial in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Viewing will be held at Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika Saturday from 11:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Memorial Donations can be made to First Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
Mabel Valentine (Sanderson) Frost was born to Walter Fagan and Lela Evelyn (Burris) Sanderson on February 14, 1923 in Sugden, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on August 6, 2014 at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 23 days. Mabel grew up in the Irving, Sugden and Waurika area. She married Wesley Otis Frost on July 1, 1937. They made their home for years on a farm near Hastings before moving to Waurika in August of 1967. She was a seamstress, working at the Haggar Slacks Factory in Temple for 31 years, retiring with the close of the factory. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Waurika. Through the years she stayed busy gardening, cooking, sewing and quilting. She loved taking care of her family!
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley, in April of 1984; a grandson, Brandon Arroyo in 2014; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lesley Ivan and Mary Frost of Hastings, OK; 3 daughter and sons-in-law, Linda Gail Koenig of Wichita Falls, TX, Janette and Jerry Bob Lemons of Walters, OK, Jan and Roy Allman of Euless, TX; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Sanderson of Walters; 7 grandchildren, Buddy Frost, Tabrina Arroyo, Beverly Hunter, Janan Sanchez, Julie Koenig, Jennifer Kay and Rodney Lemons; 17 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
