Lucille Groves Mitchell
Lucille Groves Mitchell was born in Courtney, Oklahoma on July 28, 1922 to Thomas and Sara Groves. She passed from this life Thursday, December 24, 2009 in Mansfield, Texas, at the age of eighty- seven. She resided in Wichita Falls, Texas for sixty-five years. She was a homemaker, and worked at Mcroys Department Store in downtown Wichita Falls for twenty years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls and loved to go dancing at "Green Door". She and F.A. "Buddy" Mitchell were married in 1940 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death February 19, 1978.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son - Jimmy Mitchell, grandson- Darrin Mitchell, and granddughter Christina Green.
She is survived by son - Ricky Mitchell and wife Gloria of Arlington, Texas, daughter - Hazel Green of Eugene, Oregon, grandchildren - Martha Cobb, Michael Green, David Green Jr., Rebecca Green, Michael Cryer, and Jeremy Mitchell, fourteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral service for Ms. Mitchell will be Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with Rev. Jeff McLemore officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
