Hazel Lorene Brandon was born September 17, 1927 in Archer County, Texas, to George and Thena Mae Rater. Lorene passed from this life Sunday, July 30, 2006, at the Jefferson County Hospital at the age of seventy-eight. Lorene and Glen Brandon were married July 14, 1962, in Hastings, Oklahoma. Lorene worked as a clerk for the Jefferson County tax office.

Survivors include: two sons - Chuck and his wife Jackie Dunn of Petrolia, TX, and Rex and his wife Tracie Dunn of Hastings, OK; three grandchildren - Brandon, Jace and Kyote Dunn; three great-grandchildren - Haley, Laramie, and Brendall Dunn; and one sister, Peggy Baldwin, of Kerville, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers - Dale Rater and Don Rater, and one great-grandchild - Haley Dunn.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brandon were at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at the Hastings Baptist Church, with Duane Peters officiating. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Hospital.
