Lorena Mae Delaney

Lorena Mae Delaney was born September 7, 1915, in Terral, Oklahoma, to George and Cumie Locke. Lorena passed from this life Thursday, December 25, 2003, at the Jefferson County Hospital, at the age of eighty-eight. She married Lee Adam Delaney, on November 7, 1935, in Waurika, Oklahoma. Mrs. Delaney worked as a nurses' aide for the Ryan Nursing Home for eleven years and did some farming. She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the First Assembly of God Church of Terral.

Survivors include: one son - Tommy Delaney of Terral, OK; three daughters - Charlene Echols of Terral, OK, Frances Pohlpeter of El Reno, OK, and Lola Nelms of El Reno, OK; three sisters - Delma Bussey of Terral, OK, Louise Ewing of Nacogdoches, TX, and Nioma Herron of Terral, OK; twenty grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Cumie Locke, her husband, Lee Adam Delaney in 1981, two sons, Doyle Delaney and James Delaney, two brothers, Frank Locke, and Barney Locke, and one grandson, Kendall.

Funeral services for Mrs. Delaney were at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2003, at the Terral Assembly of God Church with Bro. Floyd Key officiating. Burial was in the Terral Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Terral. Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.
