Lola Humphries

Lola Bell Humphries was born November 23, 1908, in Jackson, Mississippi to Ira McIntyre and Missouri Bell Bradshaw McIntyre. She passed from this life Thursday, August 2, 2001, at the Meridian Nursing Home in Comanche, Oklahoma.

Lola Bell McIntyre married W.M. Bill Humphries on December 27, 1924, in Byers, TX. He preceded her in death December 13, 1993. Mrs. Humphries was a homemaker and a member of the Patterson Avenue Baptist Church in Comanche.

She is survived by: four sons - Floud Humphries of Foster, OK, Bill Humphries of Orlando, FL, Paul Humphries of Healdton, OK, and Doyal Humphries of Bloomfield, NM; four daughters - Mildred Humphries of Flowermound, TX, Lavell Britton of Comanche, Jearldine Graham of Comanche, and Peggy Bridgers of Lewisville, TX; one brother, Arthur McIntyre of Aztec, NM; one sister, Lillie Kendall of Dairy, OR; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; and sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Services were held Monday, August 6, 2001, at 10:00 AM, at the Patterson Avenue Baptist Church in Comanche, OK, with Pastor Bruce Humphries officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.

Pallbearers were her grandsons: Rocky Graham, Steve Graham, Robby Graham, Jay Fletcher, Jesse Humphries, and Matt Wilson. Honorary pallbearers wer her great grandsons.
