Lewie Dabbs passed from this life Thursday, January 22, 2004, at the Jefferson County Hospital, at the age of seventy-six. Lewie was born November 11, 1927, to Lewie and Audrey Dabbs in Ft Worth, Texas. He married Doris Baffrey. Lewie worked for Weatherford Lamb Oil Company until his retirement in 1986. He then went to work for Dunnick Bros. road construction and retired from there in 1992. Lewie enjoyed both fishing and gardening.

Survivors include: four sons - Louie Dabbs of Ryan, OK, David Dabbs of Ryan, OK, Loyd Dabbs of Shawnee, OK, and Lewie Dabbs of Shawnee, OK; five daughters - Susie Brown of Ryan, OK, JoAnn Knight of Ryan, OK, Lisa Dollins of Shawnee, OK, Lynn Dabbs of Shawnee, OK, and Robin Cain of Shawnee, OK; two sisters - Ellen Scott of California and Wanda Moore of Rio Vista, TX; three brothers - Loyd Dabbs of Weatherford, TX, Donnie Dabbs of San Antonio, TX, and Ted Dabbs of Mississippi; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewie and Audrey Dabbs, his wife, Doloris Dabbs, a daughter, Louise Knight, a granddaughter, Catisa Dollins, two brothers, Earl and Derwart Paul Dabbs, and one sister, Pat Reed.

Graveside services for Mr. Dabbs were at 11:30 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2004, at the Ryan Cemetery with Brent Richardson officiating. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.
