Loyd Leroy Park

On Sunday, July 4, 2004, Loyd "Leroy" Park went to be with his Savior and his soulmate, Lottie. He died of a broken heart because of the death of his one true love of 63 years. He passed away at the home of his daughter, Molly Hobbs, of Waurika, who had cared for him since then.
Funeral will be at 10 AM Friday in Waurika Church of Christ. Burial will be in Waurika Cemetery, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be from 9AM to 6PM today and Thursday.
Loyd "Leroy" Park was born April 26, 1921, to Walter and Molly Park in Talihina. He grew up in Talihina and graduated from Waurika schools. He served his country with the U.S. Army from October 1942 until Novembr 1945. On May 19, 1941, he was married to Nancy Laudesella "Lottie" Wright. Together, Leroy and Lottie owned and managed Park Grocery of Waurika, Ryan and Ringling. They later sold the store to Jerry Shelton and moved to Wichita Falls, where they managed apartments. Leroy and Lottie then returned to Waurika, where Leroy operated his own appliance repair business. Leroy was an elder of the Church Of Christ since he was 30 years old, a position he was devoted to. He recently spoke of how he enjoyed helping people solve problems in their lives.
Survivors include his daughter, Molly Hobbs; a son, Loyd Park and his wife Carol, and a son, Terry Park, all of Waurika; grandchildren; Jeff Park, his wife, Tori, and their children, Wyatt and Cody, of Amarillo, Texas; Greg Park, his wife, Lynda, and their children, Garrett and Lyndsey of Mineral Wells, Texas; Lacretia Miles, her husband, Chris, and their children, Ethan and Dylan, of Rhome, Texas; Terry Don Park of Norman; Todd Park, adn wife, Lysa, and their children, Eric and Adam, of Norman; Brothers; Floyd Park of Ryan, W.J. "Dub" Park of Waurika, and Harold "Pee Wee" Park of Sulphur. He was also a loving uncle and father figure to his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers will be Jeff Park, Greg Park, Terry Dn Park, Todd Park and Chris Miles. Honorary bearers are Wyatt Park, Cody Park, Garrett Park, Erik Park, Adam Park, Ethan Miles and Dylan Miles.
