Leonard H. Dean

Leonard H. Dean was born in Waurika, Oklahoma on January 9, 1926 to Houston Floyd and Julia Ann Wood Dean. He passed from this life February 22, 2014 in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 88.

He and Alma Lula Morris were married November 1, 1983 in Sherman, Texas. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2012.Leonard served his country in WWII. He was a Seaman 1st Class in the United States Navy. He retired from the City of Duncan where he worked as City Superintendent and served as Captain of the Police Department for 22 years. He also worked for a short time as manager of Jones Grocery Store and manager of Montgomery Ward Men's Clothing. He was a member of the Waurika Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his children - Marsha Moore and husband Jerry, Debbie Harrison and husband Danny, Greg Dean and wife Elaine, stepchildren - Latreta Stout, Linda Newman, and Vaden Dean, siblings - Lola Mae Dear and Bernard Dean, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife - Alma, and twin sons - Floyd and Arley.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 10:00AM at the Church of the Nazarene in Waurika with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Viewing will be from 9AM-8PM Tuesday at Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
