Leo F. Liggett

Leo Floyd Liggett was born July 24, 1925 in Byers, Texas, to Andrew Floyd and Maudie (Davis) Liggett. He passed away July 31, 2016 in Oklahoma City at the age of 91.
Leo and Beth Bodenhamer were married June 24, 1950 in Waurika, Oklahoma. They were married for 56 years when Beth died of A.L.S. in 2006. Leo graduated from Byers High School in 1942 and worked as a mechanic for Byers Ford Tractor. He entered the Army in 1945 but was honorably discharged due to a basic training injury. After marriage to Beth he went to work for Bodenhamer Propane as a driver. He ultimately bought the business and managed it until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister Nobie Harding of Byers, Texas, and brother Oren Liggett of Bowie Texas. He is survived by his son William Liggett and wife Lana of Burkburnett, TX; granddaughters Heather Watson and husband Lance of Oklahoma City, OK, Kara Baumann and husband Jamie of Baton Rouge, La; great-grandchildren Will Watson, Hadley Watson, Brooks Watson and Ford Watson all of Oklahoma City; nephews Gary Liggett and wife Marjorie of Keller, Texas and Andy Harding and wife Vickie of Byers, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Jeff McLemore and David Shawver officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ervin Nunley, Ronnie Bohot, Chuck Brown, Ronnie Morgan, Dru Robertson and Jerry Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Robertson, Norman West, and John Hicks. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel with the family receiving visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
