Lela Riggs passed from this life Monday, January 21, 2002, in the Jefferson County Hospital at the age of 90. She was born February 16, 1911, to Aaron and Ella McConnell Johnson in Ryan, Oklahoma. Mrs. Riggs was the secretary/office manager of the family business for thirty years. She was associated with the BPW Business Professional Women's Club in Claremore and was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Claremore.

She is survived by: one son - Sam Riggs; one daughter - JoAnn Wagner; and seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Louie A. Riggs, two brothers and one sister.

Graveside services were held for Mrs. Riggs on Wednesday, January 23, 2002, at Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.
