Lela Faye Ellis

Lela Faye Ellis passed from this life Tuesday, October 29, 2002, at the age of seventy-seven. She was born April 9, 1925, to James and Essie Mae West in Ryan, Oklahoma. Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker and a waitress for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ryan and of the Ladies' Auxiliary. Lela and Sidney Ellis were united in marriage on June 25, 1945, in Austin, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1975.

Survivors include: a son: Butch Ellis of Perry, OK; three daughters - Gale Sewell of Ryan, OK, Sharon Campiche of Ryan, OK, and Donna Thompson of Chickasha, OK; two sisters - Leona Ranier of Norman, OK, and Cherry Spears of Sterling, OK; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Essie Mae West, her husband, Sidney Melvin Ellis in 1975, two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ellis were at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 1, 2002, in the First Baptist Church in Ryan with Brother Clarence Mize officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.

Pallbearers were: Jim Sewell, Joe Sewell, Kevin Campiche, Jon Campiche, Rusty Ellis, and Zack Smith. Honorary pallbearers were: Colby Thompson, Jacob Sewell, Daysia Ellis, Mason Lee Ellis, and Alisa Ellis.
