Kenneth Edward Skelton
Kenneth Edward Skelton, age 93, a resident of Waurika, OK passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in Wichita Falls, TX. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 29th at 1:00 p.m. at the Waurika First Baptist Church, with Bro. Bruce Humphries officiating. Interment will follow at Waurika Cemetery, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.

Kenneth was born December 6, 1927 in Borger, Texas to Henry and Ruth (Medley) Skelton. At age 15 he joined the US Navy, and was a veteran of World War II. He told his parents that he would finish high school after his military service ended; and he later graduated high school and attended college. He retired from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol after 35 years of service, retiring in 1985. He and Norma Jean Ferguson Edwards were united in marriage on July 24, 1989 in Las Vegas, NV. Kenneth loved to smoke his pipe. He also loved to play golf. He was an avid fan of the OU Sooners, and he proudly wore his Boomer Sooner hat. He will be deeply missed by his granddaughters that called him Sir.
Survivors include his wife Norma Jean Skelton; one daughter, Lynn Skelton Smith and husband Mike, Gillette, WY; two granddaughters, Tobie Waggener and Mikel Scott; four great-grandchildren, Quinn, Leo, Penny and Lucy; and lots of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Tommie Ann Skelton in February 19, 1982 and an infant son John Steven Skelton.
