Kenneth Ken Doyle Gunter

Kenneth Ken Doyle Gunter passed from this life Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at the age of seventy-six, at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born in Terral, Oklahoma, September 20, 1929, to Lon and Edna Gunter. He was a member of the Terral First Assembly of God Church. He was known and loved by all. He loved life and being around people. In his younger days, he worked for various farmers. He especially enjoyed his time working with the Funeral Home in Terra. He worked for Boydston Funeral Home in the fifties and sixties. He stayed with the Funeral Home as it changed hands and became Phillips-Elsey (1962-65), Pealor-Morehead (1966-82), Morehead-Goetz (1982 - 2000) and Dudley Funeral Home from 2000 until his death. He was a real asset to the funeral directors over the years because he especially loved visiting with the people of Terral. He spent his last eleven months in the Ryan Nursing Home. He will be missed by everyone.

Survivors include: one brother - Donald Gunter of Pasadena, TX; two nieces - Melba Croxton of Terral, OK, and Carol Ann Brassfield of Pasadena, TX; three nephews - Mike and Steve Gunter of Terral, OK, and Chip Gunter of Deer Park, TX; a sister-in-law - Helen Gunter of Terral, OK; several grand-nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parent, Lon and Edna Gunter, a brother, Melvin Gunter, and a sister, Dolly Gunter.

Funeral services for our good friend Ken were at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 19, 2005, at the Terral Assembly of God Church with Rev. Floyd Key officiating, assisted by Rev. Charles Parker and Rev. Roy Clingenpeel. Burial was in the Terral Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Terral.
