June Derr Grimes
June Derr Grimes, 90, of Temple, Texas, passed from this life March 3, 2015, in Temple. She was born January 1, 1925, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Dr. John Isaac and Izma "Elledge" Derr.
She married Victor Grimes in Montgomery, Alabama, on April 5, 1944. Over the years they lived in Oklahoma City, OK, Tulsa, OK, Temple, TX and Waurika, OK. She was a teller and worked in the trust department of First National Bank in Oklahoma City. She was a Methodist and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the GWFC Sorosis Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Mici Mineth Grimes Autin, and her son-in-law Gerald Wayne Autin.
Survivors include: her husband Victor, of the home in Temple, TX; her daughter Vici Ianthe Grimes of Stillwater, OK; her grandson Colin Grimes Autin and his wife Melissa of Oklahoma City, OK; great-grandchildren - Emma Reece Autin, Marley Gwendolynn Autin, and Caroline Victoria Autin, all of Oklahoma City, OK; and four nieces - Kathleen Deborah Roth, Jean Johnson and Taylor Roth - all of Wichita Falls, TX, and Micayla Proctor of McKinney, TX.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Rev. Karen Slater officiating. Burial will follow in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Park Methodist Church in Temple, Texas, or First United Methodist Church in Waurika, OK.
