Juanita Mae Phillips was born September 18, 1917 in Loco, Oklahoma, to Andrew Clyde and Alma Byram Ryan. She was the oldest of four children. Juanita passed from this life Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the Jefferson County Hospital in the Waurika, Oklahoma, at the age of ninety-one. She and Charles L. Phillips were married on September 17, 1937, in Healdton, Oklahoma. They lived in Healdton until moving to Odessa, Texas. She was a nurse for Odessa Medical Center. She moved back to Waurika in 1977 to take care of her parents.
Survivors include: her sons - Don Phillips of Seminole, TX, Charles Phillips, Jr. of Rockport, TX, and Lanny A. Phillips of Odessa, TX; her sister Pat Bennett of Laurel, MS; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers Clyde H. Ryan and Oscar Franklin Ryan .
Funeral services for Mrs. Phillips will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 11, 2008. at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Mike Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Dixie Cemetery (8 miles North of Ringling, Oklahoma) under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM with the family receiving visitors from 6:30 to 7:30PM.
