Joyce Ileta Wood Carr was born April 27, 1925, in Oklahoma, to Opal and Gail Wood. She passed from this life Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of eighty-two. Joyce lived and worked in California and was an insurance accounting district supervisor that covered San Jose, California, Sacramento, California, and Salt Lake City, Utah. Joyce retired and returned to Oklahoma where she had so many wonderful memories of her childhood with her grandparents.

Survivors include: her daughters - Sharon and her husband Win Garvin, and Deanna and her husband Ernie Tolbert; her brother Charles Wood and his wife Faye; her grandchildren - Jeff Woith, Mike Woith, Monica Gail Walden, Donna Lee Walden, David and Tamra Garvin; her great-grandchildren - Zak, Brendon, Benji, Nick, Lolly Sissy, Devon, and Trevor; great-great-granddaughter Vanessa; her nieces including Debbie and Ron Flory, Kathy Kannada, Jennifer Figurate, and Amy; and her great-nieces and nephews Jared, Jayson, Amanda, and Kristin.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Albert and Maude Wood, her son Lonnie Gail Walden, her brother Lester Gail Wood, and her granddaughter Victoria Lee. There will be no services for Mrs. Carr but you may celebrate her life with a memorial contribution to the charity of your choice.
