Joseph Leo Malaglowicz was born April 8, 1949, in Herkimer, New York, to Joseph A. and Geraldine M. Mears Malaglowicz. He passed from this life Tuesday, April 08, 2008, at his home in Waurika, Oklahoma, at the age of fifty-nine. Joe graduated from New York University with a Bachelors of Science and Masters Degrees in Education. He was retired from Amoco Oil Exploration. He was a retired teacher and geologist. He came to Waurika from Cypress, Texas in March of 2006. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Waurika.

Survivors include: two daughters - Rebecca and her husband Michael Slavin of Houston, TX, and Heather and her husband Michael Bryant of Waurika, OK; four grandchildren - Christopher Wilson and Elizabeth Slavin of Houston, TX, and Michael Jr. and Colton Bryant of Waurika, OK; two brothers - Steven Malaglowicz and Diana Croyle of Sparks NV, and Thomas Malaglowicz and his wife Marlene of New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Matthew L. Malaglowicz, and sister, Sandra L. Shepard.

Funeral services for Mr. Malaglowicz will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the First Christian Church in Waurika with Rev. Curtis Plant officiating. Visitation will be at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with the family receiving visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Matthew Malaglowicz Memorial College Fund, First Christian Church Building Fund or Goode Samaritan Hospice.
