Josephine Ozella Bowman went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, August 24, 2005, in the Meridian Nursing Home at the age of eighty-five. She was born October 26, 1919, in Comanche, Oklahoma, to Estell and Kinnie Beck. She married Theodore Teddy Bowman February 23, 1938, in Comanche, Oklahoma. To that union were born Jolena Latrell and Kenny Logan. They were members of First Baptist Church of Comanche where Josephine was a Sunday School teacher. Teddy preceded her in death on April 24, 2004.

Survivors include: one daughter - Jolena and her husband Leland LD Smith of Comanche, OK; three grandchildren - Curtis Smith of Ft Worth, TX, David and his wife Mona Smith of Mansfield, TX; and Chreyl Allovio of Arlington, TX; three great-grandchildren - Andrew and Camille Smith and Madelyn Allovio; two sisters - Shirley Griffin and Betty Deger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Teddy, her son, Kenny, two sisters - Billie Miears and Reva Trent, and two brothers - Doug BEck and Leo Beck.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bowman will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 27, at the First Baptist Church in Comanche with Bro. Gary Smith and Bro. Ron Ogle officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Visitation will be Thursday until 9:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Comanche.
