John Fredrick Wigand

John Fredrick Wigand, 91, passed from his life Monday, April 4, 2016, at his home in Ryan, Oklahoma. He was born March 16, 1925, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Fredrick and Margaret (McDonald) Wigand. He and Rosemary Beebe were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 12, 1965. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year.
Mr. Wigand was a brake specialist, working in Pasadena, California. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and in Korea. He was a member of the Honor Guard of the American Legion in Oregon and Ryan, Oklahoma, and a member of the VFW. He was a member of Irving Baptist Church. He loved hunting and baseball, especially favoring the Atlanta Braves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Margaret Wigand and two siblings.
Survivors include: his wife Rosemary, of the home in Ryan, OK; his children (three step and two adopted) Larry Thomas Wigand, John Fredrick Wigand II, Patricia Ann Phelps, Sharman Warner, and Tonya Strecker; one sister - Rose Marie Archibald; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mr. Wigand will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 10, 2016, at the Ryan Cemetery with Michael Warner officiating.
