John Stephen Overstreet, of Waurika, Oklahoma, was born August 2, 1946 in Ryan, Oklahoma, to John J. and Martha Ann Henry Overstreet. He passed from this life Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Duncan Regional Hospital at the age of sixty-two. He graduated from Central State in 1968, and then from Cameron University with a Masters in Education.  He worked as a school teacher, teaching business and computers. He was also a truck driver. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika. He and Joyce Fulfer were married April 8, 1982, in Waurika.

Survivors include: his wife Joyce of the home; his mother Martha Ann Overstreet of Waurika, OK; children - Jodie Roberts and husband Tony of Edmond, OK, Todd Overstreet and wife Shelly of Laverne, OK, Stephen Kingcade and wife Joyce of Wichita Falls, TX, Matt Kingcade, Joe Kingcade, Mattie Overstreet, and Cicily Overstreet, all of Waurika, OK; mother in law and father in law-Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Fulfer; four sisters-in-law - Paula Reed, Linda McQuery, Liz Vanek, and Leann Martin; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
