Johnie Lucchi

Johnie Lucchi was born February 16, 1923, to Eugino and Rosa Corgna Lucchi in Cherokee, Kansas. John passed from this life Monday, May 23, 2005, at his home in Meridian at the age of 82. John served his country in WWII. He was injured in Philippine Islands and received the Purple Heart. He retired from FMC after 36 years in Green River, Wyoming, and moved to Comanche in 1991. His hobbies included fly fishing and woodworking. He and Helen were married June 2, 1976, in Miami, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: his wife of twenty-nine years, Helen, of the home in Meridian, OK; six children - Karen Doak of Rock Springs, WY, Roseanne Brown of Casper, WY, Sherie Kitchel of St Francis, IL, Ilene Holecek of Princeton, TX, Lisa Lucchi of Terre Haute, IN, and Johnie Lucchi of Casper, WY; two step-children - Brenda Phillips of Duncan, OK, and Archie Swanson of Memphis, TN; nineteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers - Joe, Mondao, and Eado, and two sisters - Emma and Marry, and his first wife Deloris Dolly Lucchi.

Funeral services for Mr. Lucchi were held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche, Oklahoma, with Loy Elkins officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12-8PM at the Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jeff Briscoe, Chad Abshire, Jeff Davis, Nick Allen, Charlus Bishop, and Steve Holecek. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Bishop, Terry Bishop, Micah Briscoe, Ronnie Rhone, Bill O’Neal, Dow Bider, L.D. Seymour, Steve Sekerak, Butch Soltis, and Chick Soltis.
