John Earl Morris
John Earl Morris was born in Ryan, Oklahoma on July 30,1935, to Ruthie and John (Pappy) Morris. He passed from this life Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his home in Sugden at the age of seventy-four. John Earl graduated from Irving Consolidated School in 1953. John Earl was a brick layer for over thirty-five years and also worked for the Department of Transportation. He was an active member of the Ryan Church of Christ and a member of the Masonic Lodge. John Earl and Shirley Rae Martin were married March 14, 1954 in Henrietta, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 29, 2004. He married Loretta Moore on June 28, 2005 in Thornberry, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Loretta of the home, children - Johnny Morris and wife Cindy of Portland, Texas, Rhonda Wilson and husband Tad of Prosper, Texas, and Tammy Allison and husband Haskell Jenks, Oklahoma, brother - Robert Morris and wife Betty of Sugden, Oklahoma, sisters - Lois Strickland and husband Page of Sugden, and Neoma Hager and husband James of Henrietta, Texas, sister in law- Tommie Morris and six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife - Shirley, son -Eddie, and brother - Otis Morris.
Funeral service will be Monday, April 12, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Ryan Church of Christ with Johnny Morris and Rodger Schwenn officiating. Burial will be in the Sugden Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Visitation will be at Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan on Saturday from 10AM-7PM and Sunday from 1-5PM with the family receiving visitors from 1-2PM Sunday. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice of the Jefferson County Hospital.
