Joseph Joe Steele Garrett was born August 4, 1945, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Laud Steel and Mary Elma Chowning Garrett. Joe passed from this on Wednesday, April 16,2008, at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of sixty-two. He was a sheet metal worker for Halliburton and a member of the Waurika Church of Christ. He and Glenda Ross were married in Waurika, Oklahoma, May 30, 1965.

Survivors include: his wife of forty-two years, Glenda Garrett of the home in Waurika, OK, two sons - Russell Wayne Garrett and Rickey Don Garrett and his wife LeAnne all of Waurika, OK; three grandchildren - Taryn Garrett, Brenae Garrett, and Hayden Garrett; and one great-grandchild Skylar Garrett.

Funeral services for Mr. Garrett will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 19, 2008,at the Waurika Church of Christ with Noel Curington officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
