Joe Ervin Bridgers, 70, of
Comanche, died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Duncan Regional Hospital.
Services were at 10:00 AM at the Praise Assembly of God with W.W.
Harkins officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under
the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
Mr. Bridgers was born October 4, 1930, in Cotton County between
the two Beaver Creeks. He married Betty Jane Moore on January
22, 1955 in Garland, TX.
Mr. Bridgers was a retired rancher. He was a member of the Praise
Assembly of God Church for more than twenty years and he served
as an elder of the church. He loved the outdoors and raising cattle.
He was a loving husband, a good dad and a wonderful papa.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty, of the home; three sons, Joe
Ervin Bridgers, Jr. and Elizabeth of Richwood, Buddy and Rhonda-Leigh
Bridgers of Marlow, and Butch and Samantha Bridgers of Tulsa;
two daughters, Jewel Edwards and Tommy of Stillwater, and Linda
Dozier and Gordon of McKinney, TX; two brothers, Carl Bridgers
of Walters and Roy Bridgers of Lewisville, TX; seven sisters,
Louise Johns of Grant, Maxine Lokey and Anita Dunn, both of Comanche,
Mary Rather of Duncah, Florence Yokum of LaGrange, TX, Lois Gilliam
of Walters, and Carolyn Howard of Lewisville; thirteen grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Charles Bridgers, Paul Bridgers, Tony Zann, Scott
Gillam, Shane Dunn, and Jack Lokey. Honorary bearers were Jackie
Gordon, David Griffin, David Montgomery and Donny Foraker.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Praise Assembly of God
Church.
