Joanna Hall Ryan

Joanna Hall Ryan was born December 16, 1959, in Nocona, Texas, to Gerald Keith and Alpha Fay Peterson Hall. She passed from this life on January 18, 2012, at her home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Joanna was a 1978 graduate of Ryan High School and worked as a court reporter in Jefferson and Cotton Counties for several years. She and Dr. Randy Ryan were married May 21, 1983, in Ryan, Oklahoma. Joanna attended graduated from Midwestern State University in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science in dental hygiene. She worked alongside her husband Dr. Randy Ryan as a dental hygienist and office manager in their offices in Ryan, Madill, and Tishomingo, where they moved in 1992. Joanna was also a homemaker and mother and very involved in her community. She was an active member of the Westside church of Christ in Tishomingo and served on numerous committees over the years. Joanna was also involved with the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce, and served as President of the Board of Education in Tishomingo during much of her 17+ year tenure. She was also a former member of Tishomingo's Daughters, the state's oldest women's service club, was active with the Tishomingo Band Booster Club, and supported the local 4-H and FFA and other youth of Johnston County in a variety of ways. Joanna also served on the Johnston County Hospital Board and the Tishomingo City Improvements Committee. She was named Johnston County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 1997 for her many contributions to the community.

Joanna is survived by her husband Randy of the home in Tishomingo; her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Lida Fay and Adam McGee of Lincoln, Nebraska; her mother, Alpha Hall of Ryan; her brother, Keith Hall and wife NaQuina of Ryan; and her sister, Anita Martin and her husband Jeffrey of Ryan. Joanna is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11AM at the church of Christ in Ryan with Stuart Bailey, pastor of the Tishomingo Westside church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Visitation will be Friday from 10AM-8PM at the Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan at 612 Washington.
