James Allen Solomon

JAMES ALLEN SOLOMON, 69, died peacefully in the arms of his wife, Friday, March 10, 2017 in Marlow, Oklahoma following an extended and painful bout of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.
He was born in Marlow, Oklahoma to Lettie Jean and Victor Eugene Solomon on October 29,1947. Jim was a hero veteran from the Vietnam conflict where he served from 1969-1971. He worked for Bill's Fish House, in the oil field and for Solitaire Homes before he settled into his favorite business of owning his own gasoline and tire shop in Waurika, Oklahoma.
Jim was a Texas Ranger, a member of the American Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Waurika VFW, and the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Cross Brand Cowboy Church in Waurika where he always brought donuts for the kids every Sunday. Jim loved animals, especially his bird dogs and horses in his younger days. He loved unwinding with his friends at the local bar and was always up for a good game of pool. Jim was a longtime Waurika Volunteer Fire Fighter and worked the Waurika Snake Hunt every year for more than 30 years. More recently, he was seen sitting on his yellow zero-turn mower doing a lot of mowing at Bill's Fish House and all around Waurika. He took a lot of pride in the quality of his mowing jobs.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Anita; a son JJ Solomon; two daughters Jolei and husband Cass Balle, Samantha and husband Allan Oats; three step-daughters Samantha Goza; Shannon and husband Macky Smith, Savannah Goza and fiancée Thomas Head. Two sisters Patricia and husband Jack Bailey; Vickie Call; and one sister-by-choice Jeri Nell Mays and husband Jim. Ten grandchildren Thomas Solomon, Chloe Balle, Blake Balle, Shyanne Balle, Bailey Garvin, Kole Solomon-Oats, Austin Solomon-Oats, Tristan Rodriguez, Grady Smith and Garrett Smith. He also had several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother-by-choice Steven Goza in November 2009.
Memorial service will be held at Cross Brand Cowboy Church in Waurika on Monday, March13, 2017 at 9AM.
His body has been sent for cremation. His ashes will be spread at the family plot at the Ryan Cemetery at a later date.
