James Donald Jim Seay
James Donald "Jim" Seay of Ryan passed away early Saturday morning, June 28, 2014 surrounded by his family at his ranch home east of Ryan.
James Donald Seay was born January 28, 1956 in Wichita Falls, TX to Donald Wayne and Dorothy Marie(Hubbard) Seay. After graduating from Ryan High School in 1974 , Jim went to both OSU and Cameron University in Lawton, where he graduated in 1979. After his college days, Jim returned to his true love—ranching on their family land. Jim and his brother Ken developed his family's ranch into what is known today as Seay's Bros. Ranch. Owned and operated for 35 yrs.
Jim and Dorotha (Howard) Cathey were united in marriage May 26, 2001 at Grady Community Park. Jim was a member of United Methodist Church of Ryan. He loved the ranch life, his bird dogs, hog hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Jim looked forward to their family vacations each year—no matter the destination.
Jim is survived by his mother, Dorothy Seay of Ryan; his wife, Dorotha Seay of Ryan; two daughters, Jamie Beth Smith of Ardmore, OK and Jana Marie Alcorn and her husband, Steve of Ryan, OK; Two step-sons, Darrell Davis of Comanche, OK and Derrick Davis and his wife, Hannah of Grapevine, TX; two brothers, Kenneth Seay and his wife, Natalie of Ryan and Greg Seay and his wife, Donna of Durant, OK. Jim is also survived by five grandchildren, Cainan, Brad, Aidan, Audrey and Augustus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice, Ardmore, OK or Irving Baptist Church in Ryan. Ceremony celebrating Jim's life will be held on July 26, 2014 with visitation at the Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan at 5:00 pm followed by a graveside ceremony in Oscar Cemetery in Jefferson County.
