Jimmy Jim Colon Provost
passed from this life Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at the age of fifty-seven.
He was born September 24, 1945, to Willie Colon and Kathryne Wallace
Provost in Petrolia, Texas. He was a deputy for Jefferson County
for five years and in law enforcement since 1979. He and Kaye
McCoy were united in marriage on February 25, 1967, in Long Beach,
California.
Survivors include: his wife, Kaye, of the home in Waurika, OK; one son, Lance Provost and his wife Connie of Knox City, TX; one daughter, Kayla and her husband Mike Poage of Ryan, OK; one half-brother, Joey Yeager of Seagoville, TX; seven grandchildren, James, Molly, and Abigail Provost, Ashlee and Cody Poage, and Emily and Taylor Herriage; special nieces and nephews, Robert and Doug McCoy, and Tammy, Rhonda, and Bobbie Jo Chadwick, and many close friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Colon and Kathryne Wallace Provost.
Funeral services for Mr. Provost were at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 2, 2003, at the Ryan First Baptist Church with Randy Allen officiating. Burial was in the Petrolia Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorials may be made to the Jim Provost fund at Waurika First Farmers Bank.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dwayne Roark Scholarship Fund at the First State Bank in Ryan.
