Jimmie Samuel Orum, 78,
of Comanche, died April 30, 2001 at his residence. Funeral services
were held Thursday, May 3, 2001, at the Dudley Funeral Home with
Rev. Dow Pannell officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery
under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
Mr. Orum was born December 9, 1922, in Lebanon, OK. He was a WWII veteran and participated in the Normandy Invasion and received the EAME Theater Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. He married Ida Irene Evans on June 27, 1942, in Madill, OK. He was a pump mechanic at Sun Oil Refinery. He attended the Church of Christ.
He
is survived by his wife, Ida Irene, of the home; sons Larry and
Pam Orum of Tulsa, OK, Jim and Linda Orum of The Woodlands, TX,
and Gary and Janet Orum of Lawton, OK; two daughters, Brenda and
Bobbie Massie of Duncan, OK, and Sally and Jerrell Bowen of Comanche;
a brother, Donald Orum of Albuquerque, NM; three sisters, Jeneva
Jones of Grapeland, TX, Delores Orum of Grapeland, TX, and Ida
Dodson of Morton, TX; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren;
and two dogs, Robo and Major Orum.
Pallbearers were Jerrell Bowen, Chad Massie, Matt Orum, Jason
Orum, Herb Sigler, and James Armsworthy.
