Jimmie Willis Boon

Jimmie Willis Boon, of Comanche, Oklahoma, passed from this life Monday, December 16, 2002, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of seventy. Mr. Boon was born September 10, 1932, to Jasper and Ina Boon in Comanche, Oklahoma.

Mr. Boon was a graduate of East Central High School and attended Cameron University for three years. He was retired from Halliburton and owner of a small business in Comanche. He was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge of Comanche, the Comanche Chamber of Commerce, and the Patterson Avenue Baptist Church.

Mr. Boon was married to Dimple Darlene Sloan on September 15, 1956. She preceded him in death on February 5, 1990. He and Linda Sue Williamson were married March 17, 1993.

Survivors include: his wife Linda, of the home in Comanche, OK; five sons - Jim and Carolyn Boon of Red Oak, TX, Sammy McCartney of Oklahoma City, OK, Andy and Ginger Boon of Temple, OK, Kenny King of Comanche, OK, and Gary Goodrich of Pauls Valley, OK; three daughters - Jacque Karty of Waurika, OK, Amanda and Darrell Luna of Waurika, OK, and Amber Allen of Comanche, OK; sixteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; Dimple, four sisters - Millie Bowman, Jessie Simmons-Carter, Essie Tettleton, and Willie Patty; and two brothers - Ruel and Jack Boon.

Funeral services for Mr. Boon were at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 20, 2002, at the Patterson Avenue Baptist Church in Comanche with Pastor Billy Morgan officiating. Burial was in the Weaver's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Pallbearers were Damon Coston, Rudy Smith, Jerry Honeycut, Jerry Allen, Dennis Vail, and Billy Qualls. Honorary pallbearers were Craig Roberts, Darrell Davis, Marvin Johnson, Sketter Morris, Jackie Benson, and Max McDonnell.
